About Us, more or less

This site results from many years of walking, hiking, skiing, canoeing and sometimes just sitting in forests and other still-natural places. And then, of course, also from moving through much more unnatural places. We have found that natural places are more likely to stimulate contemplation and spur our curiosity. So much is going on that we don't understand and would like to learn more about!

This site may appear to consist of a bit of an odd mix: Giant urban redwoods, cartoons, a book, discussion topics. In fact, these sections are all approaches to the same central theme - the nature of the natural, and all that that implies.
